Easily Transfer Money to Friends & Family 

When you want to send money from your Discovery FCU account to a friend or family member, or to anyone that has an account at a financial institution, including other Discovery FCU members, use the Contacts feature in online or mobile banking. To access the contact feature, click on My Finance within mobile or online banking, then click on My Recipients, Contacts.

 

How to Invite a Contact

To send money to someone, you need to first invite the intended recipient to be your Contact in online or mobile banking.

  • Click on My Finance, My Recipients, Contacts, Send Invite.
  • Enter the recipient’s name and e-mail address or mobile number. Click Send Invite.
  • The recipient will now display in your contact list as pending.
How to Accept a Contact Invitation

Once a Discovery FCU member has invited you to become their contact, you will receive an e-mail or text message from Discovery FCU stating that the member wants to send you money. The e-mail will come from digital.services@discoveryfcu.org.  The e-mail or text message will contain a secure hyperlink asking you to register.

  • Click on the secure hyperlink in the e-mail you received inviting you to become a contact. This will take you to a secure webpage.
  • Enter your first name, last name, the name of your financial institution, and routing number. If you are entering a Discovery FCU account, enter the name as Discovery FCU. Click Continue.
  • Enter your account number and confirm your account number. If you are a Discovery FCU member, you will be prompted to also enter your Share ID. Click Accept Invite.
  • If all information was successfully entered, a thank you message will display. Click OK and you will be taken to the Discovery FCU online banking sign-in page.

How to Send Money to Your Contact

Once you have successfully established your contact you can easily send money to them in online and mobile banking.

  • Click on Transfer.
  • Select the account you want to transfer from.
  • Click on the Contact button in the Select recipient you want to send to screen.
  • Click on the name of the contact you want to send money to.
  • Enter the amount of money you want to send, the date you want to send the money, and select if this will be a recurring or one-time transfer. Click Continue.
  • Review your transfer details, and if correct, click on Continue. Your transfer will be processed on the date you specified.

You can also send money to your contact in the My Finance section.

  • Click on My Finance, Recipients, Contacts.
  • Hover over the three dots located to the right of the contact name you want to transfer to and click on Send Money.
  • Follow the directions listed above.
