What do I need to apply?

Two recent pay stubs
Your current insurance card (you will need to add Discovery FCU as ‘loss payee’).
Sales agreement or 10-day payoff. If you are buying a vehicle privately, from another individual, we can help assist you with a private sales agreement, if needed. We can also assist you with obtaining your 10-day payoff if needed.

What is the turnaround time?

If all required documents are submitted quickly, our typical turnaround time is one to two business days. We can also accommodate same-day financing needs.

Do I have to visit the credit union to apply and/or get the loan?

No. You can apply online, e-mail the necessary information and documents to your loan officer, and you can sign your loan documents electronically.

Make sure you’re 100% covered with GAP insurance. Protect yourself if your car is stolen or damaged beyond repair. With GAP (Guaranteed Asset Protection) you’re covered for the “gap” between your vehicle’s value and the amount you owe on your loan if your vehicle is totaled or stolen and never recovered. Discovery FCU offers GAP Insurance for only $225. (GAP does not cover any ancillary products.)

Most major car repairs occur after the factory warranty period ends, which puts you on the hook for expensive repairs. Discovery teams up with Intercontinental Warranty Services (IWS) to provide you with affordable protection for your new or eligible pre-owned vehicle. You may save up to 50 percent off dealer pricing!

A Discovery-IWS Extended Vehicle Warranty includes:

Low or No deductible
Nationwide protection for new and eligible pre-owned cars 12 years old and newer and up to 125,000 miles on the odometer
Towing up to $100 (max per claim)
Roadside assistance up to $80 per incident – flat tire, fluid delivery, jump start, lock-out
Money when your vehicle is in the shop
- Car rental up to $500 ($50/day up to 10 days)
- Trip interruption expenses up to $300 ($100 a day up to 3 days)
- Travel expenses up to $225
Warranty is transferable
