Protecting your accounts

Discovery Federal Credit Union never initiates requests for sensitive information by e-mail (such as social security numbers, personal identification numbers (PIN), passwords, or account numbers). If you receive an e-mail requesting this type of information, please contact Discovery immediately and report the e-mail fraud.

What information we may collect on this Web site – not including Discovery Online

We collect information from you when you subscribe to our newsletter, respond to a survey or fill out a form. When completing forms, signing up for our newsletter or responding to surveys we may ask you to enter your name, e-mail address, mailing address or phone number.

What do we use your information for?

Any of the information we collect from you may be used in the following ways:

• To personalize your experience with us – your information helps us to better respond to your individual needs.

Google Analytics

Many websites and apps use Google services to improve their content. When they integrate Google services, these sites and apps share information with Google. We use Google Analytics to better understand how users are visiting and using our sites. Google Analytics collects information such as how often users visit this site, what pages they visit when they do so, and what other sites they used prior to coming to this site. Google Analytics collects the IP address assigned to you on the date you visit this site, rather than your name or other identifying information. We do not combine the information collected through the use of Google Analytics with personally identifiable information. Discovery FCU Online Banking/App

Discovery FCU Mobile Apps periodically collect, transmit, and use geolocation information for enabling features such as, but not limited to, card use and alerts to prevent fraudulent activates, but only if the end user expressly authorizes collection of such information. Geolocation information can be monitored on a continuous basis in the background, only while the feature(s) are being used, or not at all, depending on the end user’s selection. The end user can change his/her/their location permissions at any time in their device settings.

Image Collection and Usage:

Discovery FCU Mobile Apps may collect and utilize user images for various purposes aimed at enhancing user experience and providing specific functionalities. Users maintain control over the camera access and usage within the apps. Camera access is explicitly requested when the apps requires image capture for any functionality. Users can enable or disable camera access at any time through the apps’ settings. Disabling camera access will prevent the apps from utilizing the camera for any functionality requiring image capture. We are committed to protecting the privacy and security of our users’ information. Any images collected are used solely for the intended purposes outlined above and are not shared with any unauthorized parties. By using our apps, you consent to the collection and usage of images as described in this privacy policy.

Email Security

Regular Internet email is not secure. You should never provide information that is sensitive or confidential such as your social security number, account number or PIN numbers. We also ask that you do not send personal or account Information through regular email.

Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance

From our Web site, we do not knowingly collect or use personal information from children under age 13.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

The Discovery Site is offered on an “as is,” where is,” and “where available” basis, with no warranty of any kind – whether express, implied, or statutory – including, but not limited to, warranties of title or the implied warranties of merchant-ability or fitness for a particular purpose. This does not affect those warranties which are incapable of exclusion, restriction, or modification under the laws applicable to this agreement.

You hereby consent in jurisdiction of the state and federal courts sitting in the State of Pennsylvania. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary, Discovery shall have the right to elect in its sole discretion the forum for any lawsuit arising hereunder brought by Discovery. Because you shall have access to Discovery Information and other valuable proprietary materials of Discovery, you agree that Discovery shall have the right to enforce those Terms and any of its provisions by injunction (without being required to show any actual damage or to post an injunction bond), specific performance, or any other equitable relief without prejudice to any other rights and remedies that Discovery may have for the breach of these Terms. If any provision of these Terms is for any reason found by a court of competent jurisdiction to be unenforceable, the remainder of these Terms shall continue in full force and effect.

INDEMNITY

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Discovery and its officers, directors, employees, successors, and assigns from and against any and all claims, demands, losses, liabilities, penalties, expenses, and any or other damages (including, without limitation, reasonable attorneys’ fees) directly or indirectly resulting from, relating to, or arising in connection with: (1) your breach or violation of these Terms; (2) your use of the Discovery Site; (3) any transactions or other activities you engage in with any third party service providers, third party merchant sites, or other third parties affiliates or who you access by or through the Discovery Site; (4) your infringement or violation of the intellectual property or other rights of third parties; and (5) your negligence or willful misconduct.

CHANGE IN TERMS

The information and materials contained in the Discovery Site – and the terms and conditions of the access to and use of such information and materials – are subject to change without notice. The most current version of the Terms will always be available to you by clicking on the “Terms of Use” link located on the Disclosures page of the Discovery Site.
