Our Opportunity Plus Checking account is built for members in Berks County who may have experienced financial setbacks, offering you a reliable way to rebuild your checking account history and achieve financial freedom.

Easy to use, transparent features:

  • Second-Chance Banking: Ideal for those who need a fresh start with a low-maintenance checking account. This account is available to members and non-members. Your history will have to show no more than one non-fraud charge-off from another financial institution that is $500 or less.
  • No Courtesy Pay or ATM/One-Time Debit Access: Opportunity Plus is straightforward and helps you stay on top of your account balance without unexpected overdrafts.
  • GreenPath Financial Education: Earn a $25* deposit when you complete the GreenPath CheckRight course** to improve your checking account management skills.
  • Low Monthly Fee: You will be responsible for a monthly fee of $10.
  • Ability to Upgrade Account: Maintaining the account responsibly for one year will allow you to open a regular checking account without a monthly fee. You must initiate this change, so we recommend setting a reminder in your calendar.

To qualify, applicants must be 18 or older and maintain $5.00 in Basic Savings. They must also be eligible for credit union membership.

*Only 1 deposit per account/member. Member will receive a $25 deposit to their checking account within 5 business day of certificate presentment. Deposit is considered dividends and will be reported on IRS Form 1099-INT.

Additional Qualifications

  • Current members qualify if their account has been charged off and paid.
  • Applicant must sign the Opportunity Plus Addendum.
