Discovery FCU Collects Items for the Red Cross Initiative to Support Homeless Veterans
The credit union supports Totes of Hope and the Heroes Breakfast.
Wyomissing, PA – May 22, 2024 – The team at Discovery Federal Credit Union is always eager to help when an opportunity comes up to support local veterans. The local chapter of the American Red Cross recently participated in “Totes of Hope,” a program which provides useful items such as toiletries and warm weather accessories to homeless and struggling veterans in Berks County. Discovery FCU helped out by hosting a donation drive at their branch and collecting several large boxes of donations, including some purchased by the credit union.
In addition to the donation drive, Discovery FCU supported the Red Cross by sponsoring the 2024 Heroes Breakfast, which honors local heroes and benefits all of the programs of the local chapter of the Red Cross.
“All of us here at Discovery FCU are so thankful to our veterans and happy to do anything to help them,’” said Discovery FCU President/CEO, Michele Smith. “Whenever the American Red Cross has opportunities to help this population, we jump on it. Our members expect this kind of local love from us and we’re always happy to get them involved too. Thanks to everyone who donated and the Red Cross for organizing this great program.”
