Supporting Our Community: Join Discovery FCU’s Fall Food Drive
As the holidays approach, Discovery Federal Credit Union is joining together with Helping Harvest Food Bank to lift up our neighbors in need. With food insecurity on the rise, more families than ever are turning to local food banks for support, and your contributions are vital. Non-perishable food items and essential household goods can be dropped off at our branch through November 22 to help us make a lasting impact on our community. All donations will be delivered weekly to Helping Harvest so that community members in need have access to food and supplies throughout the entire month.
What to Donate
We are accepting a variety of items to help stock local shelves and brighten the holidays for our neighbors. Please no glass or expired items.
- Canned goods such as soups, vegetables, fruit, tuna, and beans
- Boxed pantry staples including stuffing mix, pasta, rice, and cereal
- Thanksgiving favorites like canned pumpkin, cranberry sauce, and boxed potatoes
- Paper products such as paper plates and napkins
- Can openers, which are always appreciated and often overlooked
- Monetary donations are always accepted through Helping Harvest as they can supply the food bank with what families need most
Why It Matters
The upcoming Thanksgiving holiday is a time to come together, share a meal, and show gratitude. For many families, that can be difficult without community support. Your donations help ensure that no one in Berks County goes without the comfort of a holiday meal or the basic household items they need.
How to Give
Drop off your donations at Discovery Federal Credit Union located at 2744 Century Blvd, Wyomissing, PA 19610, during business hours. Our collection bin is located in the branch lobby, and every item you contribute helps make a difference.
Together, we can make this season a little brighter for everyone in our community—one can at a time.
