This holiday season, the Discovery FCU team has partnered with Opportunity House to make a Christmas miracle happen for one struggling family. You have the opportunity to help this family too, by participating in our Angel Tree or making a monetary donation.
Meet the Family
Opportunity House connected us with a single mother and her three children, who are currently living in extended housing with the nonprofit. Their story touched our hearts when we learned that the mother has a full-time job, but no car, so she ubers her children to school each morning and then walks to work. This is why one of the requested items are comfy shoes—good for walking.
Her sons are ages one, two, and four. She is working hard to give them a bright future, but there just isn’t much money left over for Christmas celebrations or even her own needs. Together we can make their holiday extra bright and provide them with items they can use throughout the year.
Angel Tree
Discovery FCU has an Angel Tree in our lobby with gift tags available for the taking. The tags include toys for the children, clothing, and household goods, as well as uber gift cards. You can also make a monetary donation that will be used toward making up for tags that are not taken or given in the form of gift cards. We know this a hard year for everyone, so please remember that even a small gift will add up for this family.
Please return unwrapped gifts with the tags attached by December 18, 2023.
