Driver’s license or state-issued ID
Social Security number
A method to fund your account – $5.00 minimum deposit for a new membership
- - Credit card
  - Debit card
  - Transfer from another credit union/bank account (you’ll need the account number and routing number handy)

If you’re using a mobile device to open your account, you’ll be able to take a photo of your ID to prefill your personal information. If you’re using a PC, you can scan your ID or take a picture of it and save it to your PC to upload to the application. Either way – it’s super easy and convenient!

Membership Eligibility

As a community credit union, if you live, work, attend school, or worship in Berks County, Pennsylvania, you’re eligible to join.

FAMILY MEMBERSHIP

Immediate family members of Discovery FCU members are also eligible to join. Immediate family members include a spouse, child, sibling, parent, grandparent, grandchild, stepparent, stepchild, stepsibling, and any adoptive relationship.

Money Market Accounts

Earn competitive dividends with no monthly fees for balances over $2,500. You’ll benefit from a higher rate and can make unlimited in-person transactions.

Enjoy a competitive dividend and NCUA insurance on your Share Certificate. It’s perfect if you have a fixed amount of money to set aside. Terms range from six to 60 months.

Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs)

Social Security or 401(k) funds may not be enough. With an IRA, you can save for the future and gain potential tax benefits today. (Please consult with your tax advisor.) We offer Traditional, Roth, and Educational IRAs, with terms up to 60 months.
